about us
Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North is a not-for-profit organization working toward a world where everyone has a safe, suitable, and affordable place to call home. Habitat for Humanity brings communities together to help families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable housing. By the end of 2025 we will have partnered with our communities to build over 74 homes, providing safe, affordable housing for more than 132 children and their families.
The Parry Sound Chapter began in 2010 as the Parry Sound Adopt-A-Home Committee; a group of dedicated local volunteers worked toward the completion of the first community build project on Emily Street in 2013. When territories amalgamated into Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North in 2014, Parry Sound became an official chapter. Since then, our dedicated Parry Sound chapter members have built three more homes. We have served a total of four families in the Parry Sound area. In support of this important work, we host two annual fundraising events: the Yard Sale and the Golf Tournament. This year, we are excited to announce a build project that will create a new affordable housing opportunity in Parry Sound. The future home at 19 Hillcrest Avenue will be located in a welcoming residential neighbourhood, just steps away from local amenities—bringing safe, stable, and affordable housing one step closer for a local family. We are actively fundraising for the next phase of this project. You can support us by taking part in our Giant Yard Sale or Golf Tournament, or by making a monetary donation. Every contribution helps bring us closer to making this home a reality.

The Parry Sound Chapter’s 2026 Giant Yard Sale is taking place on July 18th and 19th at Dunn’s Parry Sound Self Storage, 15 William Street, Parry Sound. Last year, the event was a huge success, raising more than $32,000 for the Chapter’s affordable build project at 19 Hillcrest Avenue, and this year, we’re aiming even higher, as construction of our affordable home at 19 Hillcrest Avenue is already underway.

We’re getting ready for the 2026 Habitat for Humanity Classic golf tournament at Rocky Crest, September 14th!
The annual Habitat for Humanity Classic golf tournament will be held on Monday, September 14th, 2026, at the stunning Rocky Crest Golf Club, nestled on the shores of Lake Joseph. Be a part of one of the year’s biggest and best tournaments while raising funds for the Hillcrest Avenue build project!
Golfers will enjoy a day on one of the club’s beautiful 18-hole courses. Registration includes a power cart, lunch, and a Marché dinner, followed by some terrific prizes and an exciting silent auction, making this an unforgettable experience.
