what is ReStore?

Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a social enterprise retailer that accepts and resells donations of new and used furniture, appliances, decor, and home improvement building materials to support, promote, and financially enable the mission of Habitat for Humanity. Donating to a ReStore is a better alternative to throwing out items that are still in good enough shape to be reused. Plus, donating is an easy, convenient and cost-effective way to offload household items and building materials. Every donation serves the community and creates possibility in a way no other retailer can offer, thanks to our connection to Habitat for Humanity.

The first Habitat ReStore in Canada was opened in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1991 and the concept has since grown to include hundreds of locations across Canada and the U.S. We currently operate five locations of this social enterprise the region.

It’s a great place for customers to scout out that unique vintage or retro piece for their next DIY design project and save big on furniture, appliances, renovation materials, flooring, lighting, cabinetry, kitchen and bath fixtures, and much more!

Habitat ReStore

At Habitat ReStore, you’ll find an eclectic mix of unique items for your home.

Each of our 5 ReStores across the region has its own distinctive inventory of items, which change daily as new items are donated by local residents.

Visit any one of our five ReStores and discover that special vintage, antique or retro item you’ve been searching for or that amazing deal on a gently-used, top-of-the-line appliance. The bonus is knowing that your purchase is doing good for others too!

Donating to Habitat ReStore is a win for donors, customers, families, your community and the environment! Find out how your donations of new and gently-used home furnishings, appliances, kitchen and bath fixtures and other renovation items can make a lasting difference in people’s lives.

When you volunteer with Habitat ReStore, you’re helping low-income families build a brighter future, since all proceeds from our ReStores go directly toward our affordable home build projects.

Whether you have retail experience in merchandising, customer service or no experience at all and simply enjoy giving back and working with others, there are fun and fulfilling opportunities to help out at ReStore
