Kawartha Credit Union’s Casual Days go a long way to support local community

Bracebridge, ON – Kawartha Credit Union employees are typically dressed for success, but on Fridays the team dresses down for a good cause.

During the month of December, Kawartha Credit Union raised approximately $685 as part of the company’s Casual Wear Friday program, donating the funds contributed by employees to Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North (OGN)

“Supporting the well-being of the communities we serve is one of Kawartha’s guiding principles,” VP of marketing and communications for Kawartha Credit Union Crystal Dayman said. “Our Casual Wear Friday program allows staff to contribute to causes that make a difference in the lives of our members and our branch communities. Kawartha employees contributed $1 each week over the course of a month, and Habitat For Humanity OGN Muskoka branch was proudly selected as last month’s recipient.”

The Kawartha Credit Union team presented the check for $685 to the local Habitat organization on Tuesday, Jan. 16, with 100 per cent of the funds raised going toward new affordable housing projects in the Bracebridge area.

“We thank Kawartha Credit Union for partnering with us and assisting us in creating strong and stable homes that help build strong and stable communities,” says Habitat’s Director of Development and Communication Britta Gerwin.
